Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I have been an adviser to businesses of all stripes for over 30 years. Since I have a strong international background it is no surprise that most of the engagements clients entrust me with have a major component in international markets.

How do we grow the business? What opportunities may be present in international markets? These are the opening questions that define many of the projects that come to my shop. As you can imagine, often the next question is whether or not it makes sense to grow the business internationally through greenfield operations or through acquisitions. As a result, I have developed a set of highly focused core competencies around these two themes. On the pages of this website you will find these themes fleshed out in more detail.

But there is a third aspect to it. Throughout all of my work with clients I have always been fascinated with the issue of ‘adaptability to changing conditions’. These challenges can be technological, demographic, economic and/or social. Change and adaptability take center stage in today’s business environment. All companies, large and small face the need to adapt to the Digital Age. While the digital age has its roots in the late 1980’s, it was not until the first part of the twenty first century that it became a challenge for mainstream companies.

Today we find ourselves in a ‘cauldron of profound change’ that renders much of what we learned during previous decades obsolete. I have come to the conclusion that none of these three issues can be separated from each other. In my work with clients I try to connect the dots among all three themes in the belief that this is in the best long-term interests of the organizations I serve. In fact, I have taken it a step further and developed a framework for smart business models that are particularly adapt at finding and exploiting opportunity during this period of multi-dimensional change. I make active use of this framework throughout all my engagements with clients, large and small.
